Teacher Resources

The Physics Classroom has been devoted to helping students, teachers, and classrooms since the 1990s. We are as passionate about that mission now as we have ever been. If you are a teacher of Physics or Physical Science, we encourage you to use our Video Tutorial with your students. And we also encourage you to consider the use of other resources on our website that coordinate with the video. We have listed a few below to help you get started.

Curriculum Corner, Work, Energy, and Power Section: Work

Get students active and thinking with one of our free Think Sheets from the Curriclum Corner section of our website. Here's two that should work for you:

Power

Work and Power Calculations

Teacher Toolkits, Work-Energy Fundamentals

Try a Teacher Toolkit ... you might be very glad that you did. Each toolkit includes annotated links to vetted resources from across the web that we feel reliably support the specific topic. Give this one on work and energy a try.

Minds On Physics, Work and Energy module, Mission WE2

Minds On Physics (affectionately known as MOPs) is like good medicine. At times it may not taste good but it's exactly what the doctor ordered. This one on the topic of power makes a great follow-up to this video. And if you have a Task Tracker account, you can assign it as homework and track student progress.

The Calculator Pad, Work and Energy Problem Set, Problems #6-9

If you put an emphasis on algebraic problem-solving in your course, then the Calculator Pad can be your friend (and your students' friend). It consists of a collection of problem sets with answers and audio-guided solutions. This problem set contains 4 problems on Power.

The Physics Classroom Tutorial. Work, Energy and Power Chapter, Lesson 1 - Power

Our Tutorial section is perfect for allowing students to brush up on a topic with a clearly-written reference. Put a link to this one on your course page.
