Refraction and the Ray Model of Light
15 photos
The Refraction and Lenses Gallery features photos of various refraction phenomenon including the appearance of objects submerged in water, the appearance of images viewed through lenses and water filled goblets, the refraction of laser light, human and insect eyes, and much more. This gallery provides a brief overview of most of the concepts discussed in the Refraction and the Ray Model of Light chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.

Lesson 4: Interesting Refraction Phenomenon
Lesson 4 discusses the dispersion of light by prisms, the formation of rainbows and the formation of mirages. Items in the group's pool include photos of various atmospheric refraction phenomena (rainbows, mirages, halos, sun dogs, sun pillars, etc.), the dispersion of light by prisms, the visible light spectrum, and much more. Photos complement many of the discussions from Lesson 4 of the Refraction and the Ray Model of Light chapter of The Physics Classroom Tutorial.
