Equilibrium

The Equilibrium Interactive provides students multiple practice with adding force vectors directed at angles to the traditional x- and y-axis. There are five levels of difficulty. Students can transition from one difficulty level to another difficulty level as needed. Each practice problem displays 1 or more force vectors. Students must drag out one additional force vector with the proper magnitude and direction to balance the given force vectors. Once the final decision for the magnitude and direction is made, students are given immediate feedback followed by the opportunity to try another problem at the same or different level of difficulty. As levels become more difficult, the number of given force vectors increases.
