Venturi Equation

The Venturi Equation simulation allows learners to explore the Venturi effect - the effect of a narrowing of a region of a horizontal pipe. The flow rate, ambient pressure, diameters, fluid density, and g value can be changed and the impact of such changes upon the pressure and flow velocity is immediately observable.

Users are encouraged to open the Interactive and explore. The Physics Classroom has not yet prepared a student activity for this simulation.

Learners and Instructors may also be interested in viewing the accompanying Notes page. Technical information, teaching suggestions, and related resources that complement this Interactive are provided on the Notes page. View Notes.

We owe a special thanks to Physics teacher Martin Kirby for donating the Venturi Equation Simulation to our Interactives collection. Martin has contributed many other simulations to our Interactives collection.
