The momentum (p) of an object can be calculated from knowledge of its mass (m) and velocity (v) using the formula:
p = m • v

The amount of momentum an object has depends upon how much mass it has and fast that mass is moving. The faster an object moves, the more momentum that it has. The slower an object moves, the less momentum an object has. After all, momentum is the product of mass and velocity (see Formula Frenzy section). So if the velocity is increasing, the object has an increasing momentum. And if the velocity is decreasing, the object has a decreasing momentum.
