Energy Ranking Tasks

The Energy Ranking Tasks Concept Builder is a tool that challenges the learner to use an understanding of energy forms in order to rank three locations along a path according to the relative amount of kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy. In a third activity, students use energy concepts to rank three locations according to the relative amount of speed. There are 12 different situations to analyze and three different activities: Rank That PE, Rank That KE, and Rank That Speed. Each situation presents the learner with a graphic representing the path along which the object moves and identifies three locations along that path. Learners tap on buttons in order to do the rankings. Question-specific help is provided for each of the 12 situations. Use of this Concept Builder with our Task Tracker system allows teachers to track student progress.
