Work and Energy - Mission WE2 Detailed Help

The essential difference between work and power is that power is _____.

Definition of Work:
When a force acts upon an object to cause (or to hinder) a displacementwork is done upon the object. Mathematically, work is the dot product of the force and displacement for such a situation.

Definition of Power:
Power
is the rate at which work is done upon an object.

As seen in the Dictionary section, the quantities work and power are distinctly different from each other. Work has to do with the amount of something that is done on an object and power has to do with the rate at which that something is done. Power simply expresses how fast the work is done.
