Lesson 1: Refraction at a Boundary

Lesson 1 introduces the concept of refraction, elaborating of the cause and the variables that affect the amount of refraction. The concepts of optical density and the index of refraction are discussed. Lesson 2: The Mathematics of Refraction

Lesson 2 discusses Snell's law and the mathematics associated with refraction. Lesson 3: Total Internal Reflection

Lesson 3 discusses the reflection and refraction of light at a boundary and the variables that affect the proportion of each. Total internal reflection and the concept of a critical angle are introduced and explained. Items in the group's pool include photos of sparkling diamonds, fiber optic devices, refraction on optical benches and much more. Lesson 4: Interesting Refraction Phenomenon

Lesson 4 discusses the dispersion of light by prisms, the formation of rainbows and the formation of mirages. Lesson 5: Image Formation by Lenses

Lesson 5 discusses the manner in which converging and diverging lenses from images. Ray diagrams are explained and the characteristics of images are discussed. Lesson 6: The Eye

Lesson 6 discusses the anatomy of the eye and the manner in which the eye forms images of objects. Eye problems such as myopia and hyperopia are explained and the use of corrective lenses is discussed.
