Law Enforcement - Refraction

Law Enforcement - Refraction is designed to help students predict the direction of bending of a light ray as it passes across the boundary between two media. Learners are presented with information about the relative speed of light, the relative optical density, or the relative index of refraction. From this information, learners must decide on the correct direction of bending at the boundary. They must then identify any situation that illustrates the incorrect direction of bending. There are four activities - one for each varirable (Light Speed, Optical Density, and Index of Refraction) and one having a mix of these three variables (Variable Mix). The built-in score-keeping makes this Concept Builder a perfect candidate for a classroom activity.
